Toronto | Momofuku Noodle Bar – Finally Tried It

After doing some touristy activities like going up the CN Tower and admiring the sea creatures at the Ripley’s Aquarium, it was already lunchtime and we needed to stop for some food. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to make it through the rest of the day from lack of sleep so I really needed an energy boost! Perfect time to visit Momofuku Noodle Bar because I’ve wanted to make a visit for many years and I was too excited to wait until another day.

The pork buns were much drier than I had expected. The bun was a bit dense and perhaps there could have been more hoisin sauce. While the pork belly was nicely executed – fatty and tender, I felt as though the different components did not really come together into one mind-blowing dish.

This was an expensive bowl of ramen so I had high expectations! It was indeed very rich in flavour but definitely on the saltier side. Once again, the pork belly was satisfyingly tender and the noodles were nice and chewy.

Well, this photo clearly shows my inability to take pictures when I’m sleep deprived. There was an obvious taste of sweet cereal with each bite and I enjoyed the addition of the cornflake crunch with the smooth soft serve.

I’m happy to say that I finally made a visit to Momofuku Noodle Bar. While it wasn’t the most spectacular meal ever like I had anticipated, it was still an enjoyable experience.
